Sister Turner's emails will be posted on "Sister Turner's Mission Blog" page of this website.
Sister Emily Turner is serving an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at
Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
January 3, 2012 - Sister Turner left Comox, British Columbia, Canada at 9:30am. She arrived in Draper, Utah at 10:45pm. She had 34 minutes on her calling card so she called home to send her love to her family one more time as she won't be talking to them until Mother's Day. She talked of how different she felt after being set apart, feeling peace and happiness. "I feel so ready for this". She enjoyed talking to people on the planes about her mission and one person asked for the church's website.
She wants Nathan to know; she walked around the airport in Arizona until she found the Mexican restaurant you had told her about. Many thanks to Mike and Christina for picking her up in Utah, letting her stay the night and driving her to the Missionary Training Centre to report on January 4, 2012 at 1:25pm.
February 1, 2012 at 6:00am Sister Turner will be leaving the MTC Missionary Training Centre and moving to Temple Square, SLC where she will serve her mission. Of her experience at the MTC Sister Turner wrote," I will also miss the MTC quite a lot. I have loved being here. I have learned so much. The atmosphere is wonderful here. The closest thing I can relate it to would be the Temple." (Sister Turner's Blog)
